Nothing much to add to the other reviews. Employees seem to hate you for just walking in the door. Store is dirty. Food is one small step up from Taco Bell.

definetely was a huge let down. Im from alifornia and the Baja Fresh there is amazing. I usually get the nachos with chicken and when I saw that they [ut nacho cheese on it, which in California they use shredded cheese, I asked them to switch it out. The server claimed they didnt have shredded cheese. then I looked at the menu and saw some of the items featured monterey Jack cheese, and aske them to puut that on instead. Again the person at the register said no because they dont have an oven . I then asked if they could put it in a microwave and apparently they dont have that either O_O. Found that very weird and decided to order anyway. Needless to say I was very dissappointed. the chicken had no flavor at all, like not even salt and the salsa was bland. Its not better then taco bell, taco bell may even be better.

I am not a huge Baha Fresh fan to begin with. However, the fact that they were opening something decently priced in National Harbor was exciting. Additionally, because I am a resident, they offered a 20% discount if I ate there before Sunday. So I did..... *sigh* The manager was wandering around being incredibly useless. He just yelled at the cooks and ate chips. He yelled at them in both English and his poor attempts to speak Spanish. He was incredibly rude to them, although he was nice to his customers. I didn't like seeing him belittle his employees. And apparently neither did everyone else standing in line around me. My girlfriend and I ordered a salad and quesadilla . You would think something simple as these two choices would be quick. However it took almost 45 minutes to get them. I understand that it is a new location, and they JUST opened last week but come on! It's not brain surgery. Get the orders out in a prompt and effective manner. Especially, when claiming being a fresh fast food establishment. While waiting for my food, I saw that a man had been waiting for his son's two chicken tacos for over an hour. Apparently... everyone else in the party had already eaten and they eventually had to take the food to go since they were there for the Ice show at Gaylord. He was incredibly upset and vented to me the entire time. After the manager yelling at his employees for some time, he eventually provided the gentlemen with a refund. Nice gesture, however way too late at this point. When my food finally came out, it was cold and the lettuce was wilted. I could tell that it had been sitting for some time. Again, I understand that they are new but for the food and service, even the 20% wasn't worth it. I may give them one more chance in the future, if I see any other deals come up. But I would much rather take the extra 15 minute drive to Alexandria and stop by Chipotle.

Really tasty and fast service as well.

Service was not pleasant. I ordered 5 meals and three were wrong, even though my receipt reflected what I requested. The fish on the taco was so dry with no flavor. The cashier seemed as if bothered by the fact that she had to take our orders. I typically like Baja but this particular store was not on point. I frequent The National Harbor alot and time after time I get poor service. I will not go back.

When my office was in Rosslyn, I dined at Baja an average of 3 times a week. Sometimes I crave it, but its not super convenient to go to Baja now. I went to one on Duke street and the food was horrendous. Inedible, even And I am not picky, seriously. giant hunks of onion and peppers, ick. Let me note I have had a seriously bad week, month, hell, YEAR. But let's just talk today. today sucked. Today I wanted comfort. I got a pastry leaving Rosslyn (had to return to my old stomping grounds...planned to go to Baja here but my dad treated me to Food Truck lunch downtown today. yay!! I digress. So, home. Got cleaned up, relaxed for a bit. took some motrin and wished it was magical motrin that transformed into xanax when swallowed with coffee(it wasn't). Comfort. Remembered there's a BF at the harbor which is super close to my place! Had forgotten it was there. Drove over. parking RIGHT IN FRONT! It was meant to be! It was just after 8pm. There was a family trying to order and/or ascertain why their order hadn't been called yet. As Cashier 1 haggled with them, Cashier 2 came up and I let a guy who called in an order go before me. Then Cashier 1 asked for the next person (rudely, as the lady in front of me was still standing there putting her wallet back in her purse). I ordered thinking I wasn't coming back soon, I'd have lunch tomorrow too! I ordered: a Mexicano with chicken, bare (in a bowl) no beans. and a burrito ultimo with carnitas. To go. Which I told her and she STILL asked. I had to repeat my order several times even though I not only don't have any speech impediments, I don't have any accent at all, not from anywhere. I enunciate clearly. I speak much better than I write. I paid then toddled over to the salsa bar. OMG I love the salsa bar. YAY! Get a bunch of stuff and then come back to wait. Cashier 1 yells out my number to ask what kind of meat. Uh. We discussed this several times. While I waited, I observed the behavior of the employees. largely, they were unprofessional, disorganized and pretty bad at their jobs. I've never, ever seen such a mess of employees anywhere. I noticed there was an order in a bag that had been sitting on the counter as I returned from the salsa bar. It sat there for 4 solid minutes before Cashier 1 called them. WOW. Rude! I was called up as a group of 3 tourist ladies came to the counter, perusing the menu board. I saw Cashier 1 put my bare mexicano in a bag and the cook was putting a lid on something. I asked what that was. cashier 1 replied it was carnitas fajitas. I told her I ordered a burrito. At this point she stared at me, then the cook started to say something to her and they were communicating in some form to indicate I was a moron. I asked her if I ordered fajitas or if she ordered me fajitas. She shrugged and said you ordered fajitas. Fact: I have never, not even once in my life ordered fajitas anywhere. Fact #2: I hate being told I'm wrong (which happens a lot, I should be used to it). But seriously, it was a mistake. Even if for some reason I made a mistake, she should not have given me an attitude and should have just copped it to a miscommunication (which, apparently it was) and then called it good. BTW the cook seemed to have absolutely NO IDEA how to make a carnitas Ultimo burrito. Oh and she had to ask AGAIN what meat. The heck is wrong with these people? the ladies behind me...I wanted to tell them to go ANYWHERE but there, but I didn't. They even asked me what I liked there and we had a nice chat about my favorite BF dishes. I stood there looking up the twitter name for baja fresh on my phone then sent a snarky tweet to them about the crappy service I was getting - only to realize my completed order was sitting on the counter. I looked up and Cashier 1 said 'i think this is yours' Really? Wow, thanks for being on top of that. I grabbed the bag, tossed in my salsas and left. It wasn't til I parked my car that I thought about the chips. No chips. I GOT NO CHIPS. Half the reason I went there and I DIDN'T GET ANY CHIPS!!! Sigh I won't ever, ever go back there. I see from yelp this location has about 2 stars. They are barely worth that. I'd go back to the location in Rosslyn, but not any others. Apparently thats the only location that knows how to run. One last thing. I am pretty sure there's a price difference between the fajitas and a burrito. I can afford to lose a few bucks, but on principle alone...I want my 3 bucks or whatever BACK! She didn't even offer. Wish I'd thought of it then!

Great food for cheap in the area. Not an authentic Mexican "taco truck" burrito, but it is basically the same size. I got the burrito Mexicano with grilled chicken, and added sour cream and guacamole for about $9. Of course like the real deal, I can't finish it all....great place for something quick. The staff was very nice and helpful!

I love Baja Fresh! Usually I settle for Taco Bell or Chipotle (Delish) or any Mexican Grill. But for me, Baja Fresh takes the #1 spot. I usually order the taco platter with black beans, and rice, the tacos are made with small CORN tortillas, salsa, cilantro and fresh onions! I always prefer the Corn tortillas instead of the flour ones. I also love the Wahoo Fire-grilled taco! Topped with fresh cabbage, pico de gallo and avacado also served with Corn tortillas. The guacamole is to die for! Much better than Chipotle, in my opinion. :) They have several salsas to try (( i think 6)) by the beverage area. So good to try a salsa with pineapples in it! YUM ! I wish they would have more of this chain... definitely healthier than what is available 24/7. :)

Pretty standard one step above Taco Bell Mexican food. The people running the cash registers have a questionable command of the English language, and they didn't have pico de gallo in their salsa bar. The food was good though - I had the baja burrito and it came with complimentary tortilla chips.

It's a Baja fresh. Sure, its not a taco bell, but its still fast mexican food. I try to avoid places like this.

This visit was my first at this brand of fast food place, Baja Fresh #bajafresh #mexican. I am pleased. I had the Baja Burrito. What I liked most was the meat, which was prepared very well and was real. I also liked the guacamole. It has no onions, which is great for me due to my dietary constraints. Service was fine. The attendant was patient with all my questions being it was my first time. She took the time to double check about the onion content on the burrito. Was it expensive? Well, the burrito, medium size, was $8. Yeah, I'd say it is expensive...but apparently so is everything else in this area. Try it.

Nice quick service. Alot of the previous reviews speak of horrible service and staff but fortunately the two recent times I visited, I didn't have that problem. I can't believe how long it took me to try it (Baja Fresh). National Harbor is so pricy that I finally decided to give it a try and I loved it. The original baja taco is really good and so is the Burrito Ultimo.

No. Go to elevation burger. Drive to Chipotle or a food truck or even Taco Bell. Not sure if its the chain or this location but they serve cheese wiz on nachos not the real cheese melted over crispy tortilla chips in an oven like they used to. No longer fresh. Too much $$ for this quality & taste.

This is a quick update after posting my original review. Seems like this place stepped up their game - I've noticed that they hired more "authentic" staff and employees are doing great job at churning out delicious food! The menu board has been fixed and now looks normal. Overall a much better experience, keep it up!

Service at this location sucked. Left about 4 customers outside waiting in mid-February temperatures for about 10 minutes past their opening time. Counter service also was very poor. Nachos weren't ready. Food was decent. Only reason this location gets a two.

Burritos are a disappointment. Quesadillas are good and chips are free with order, but staff is very unaware.

Got what I expected. Chicken fajitas were okay. Might have given this place 3 stars if one of the salsas had been any good.

Tasty food-chips come with your order at no extra cost- fresh and made to order- seemed to take awhile to get food once ordered though- nice selection of salsas!!!

I usually enjoy Baja at any OTHER location but whoever hired the clowns running this particular store have really missed the boat. The manager included needs to be canned. Like the last post, the time involved to get your food is unreal. This is supposed to be fast food! Waited 30 min, still no food, and no explanation for delay it was 630 on a Monday night, not very busy, but still they are slow as snails. We asked for our money back and went elsewhere. What a waste.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
